Sir.
The present is to be delivered into your hands by my friend Mr. A.S. Kok, one of our young dutch literates. Mr. Kok will have the kindness, in my behalf, to submit to your inspection the list of works in the dutch and french languages, all published by myself.
If you might wish to publish a translation in the English language of Multatuli's works, the most precious gems of modern dutch literature, you may rely upon our assistance, and our readyness to provide you with all those information and elucidation you may wish for.
Multatuli's works contain a too witty and too piercing satire on the dutch colonial system, and its managements, not to offer a most interesting and amusing lecture for English readers.
If you agreeths the present offer, your speedy answer will be highly welcome to me.
